University of Pittsburgh
The University of Pittsburgh is a public comprehensive university located in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Founded in 1787, it is one of the oldest universities in the United States. There are 16 colleges in the University of Pittsburgh, among which the School of Medicine is the most famous. In addition, the University of Pittsburgh owns the Cathedral of Learning, the tallest teaching building in the United States, which has become a symbol of Pitt. In the 2014 USNEWS comprehensive university rankings in the United States, it ranked 62nd, tied with Brigham Young University, Clemson University, Syracuse University, University of Maryland, College Park, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
