Stevens Institute of Technology is a private polytechnic with a long history in the United States. It was founded in 1870 and is located in Hoboken, NJ. The school's research in the fields of natural science and management science is at a very high level. Taylor, the "father of scientific management", entered the school in 1883. In the 2014 USNEWS comprehensive university rankings in the United States, it ranked 82nd, tied with the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Texas Christian University, and the University of Vermont.
