The University of Rochester was founded in 1850 and is located in New York State. It is a non-sectarian, coeducational, research-intensive private university. The University of Rochester has the nation's leading medical school and business school (Simon School of Business). In the 2014 USNEWS comprehensive ranking of American universities, it ranked 32nd, tied with Brandeis University, College of William and Mary, and New York University.
