General Electric
General Electric Company (GE) is the world's largest diversified technical services company. Its business spans aerospace engines, power generation equipment, finance, medical equipment, television media, plastics, energy and other fields. GE was formed in 1892 through the merger of the Edison Electric Light Company and the Thomson Houston Electric Company, both established in 1878. The current chairman and CEO is Jeff Immelt. In addition, GE is the only company still listed on the Dow Jones Industrial Index since its establishment in 1896.
