New York City Football Club (New York City FC) is a team of Major League Soccer (MLS). In 2013, it was announced that it would become the 20th franchise team of MLS. New York City FC is owned by Manchester City and the New York Yankees, with Manchester City owning a majority stake. In 2014, former Chelsea star Lampard announced that he would join New York City FC.
